Assessments

Assessments are one way to reflect the success and ongoing learning of St. Patrick students. Throughout their time at St. Patrick, students will be given a variety of pre assessments to determine where a student is at in their grade level learning. Through these types of pre-assessments, teachers are able to guide, challenge, and help those who need additional support.

Here at St. Patrick, we use the following programs to help determine our student's abilities when it comes to Reading, Grammar, Writing, and Math abilities.

  • STAR Reading is associated with Accelerated Reader. It identifies the continuum of reading strategies and skills needed for students to reach grade-level proficiency and achieve mastery. Visit the STAR Family Resource Center for more details.
  • IXL Diagnostic pinpoints students' grade-level proficiency in key math and English language arts strands. It also creates a personalized plan for each student. You can learn more information on the IXL Diagnostic Resource Center.
  • i-Ready supports every learner on their path towards grade-level success. By connecting to actionable, intuitive data, teachers know where to focus and students become more capable and engaged. For additional information, click here to visit the i-Ready Family Resource Center.

Our students take the CoGAT assessment sometime during the second half of the school year.

Students in grades 2-8 also take the ARK Test to ensure understanding of religious and faith knowledge.

We are very proud of our students' effort and commitment to their studies and our faculty's dedication to preparing them for success.
